One of the state's most popular events is the Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival, held every January. Kayaking is always a challenging sport, but the adventure gets taken to the next level when you take on the Eagle River. The river offers challenging runs in its lower section or across the glacier-fed Eklutna Lake, which features strong currents that will test your command of the kayak even further.

The Alaska Museum of Natural History is a multi-dimensional compendium of the state's most amazing natural creations. The museum features the largest exhibits of Alaskan rock, mineral and fossil collections.
