The kids will be in for a totally new adventure when you take them to H2Oasis Indoor Waterpark. They'll enjoy some wet and wild fun in water attractions like the wave pool, the Master Blaster, huge body slides, and even experience the intensity of one of the six water cannons! If you have smaller children, there's the children's lagoon for them to enjoy some more age-appropriate fun. Also, you and the kids will enjoy floating down the 575-foot lazy river. The Alaska Native Heritage Center attracts both visitors and locals who are drawn to the incredible selection of native crafts, artwork, and other unique items that are for sale. Beyond shopping, there are several demonstrations, art classes, informal lectures and workshops where you can learn about the 11 Native Alaskan groups and their cultures and traditions. There is also a museum section that features indoor exhibits and outdoor village attractions.

What's a visit to Anchorage without uttering the word "mush?" Well, shouting the word is more like it at the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race held every March. World-class sled racers and their dog teams mush toward the Bering Sea coast through the area's rugged terrain in what has been termed the "Last Great Race on Earth." The route is a staggering 1,150 miles and it all starts in downtown Anchorage the first Saturday in March with a grand ceremony to begin the race.
