Every spring, the University of Alaska Fairbanks presents the Festival of Native Arts. This well-attended event provides cultural education and sharing through native dance, music, and traditional arts. The festival has been a tradition in Fairbanks since it began in 1973 and continues to uphold the noteworthy tradition of bringing together artists, performers, and groups that celebrate native cultures in various creative and entertaining ways. There are also many local and regional sponsors that contribute time and resources to ensure the success of this endeavor.

The Arctic Circle Flight Adventure Tour gives you the best of both worlds. The tour departs in a small plane from Fairbanks and lands across the Arctic Circle. When you deplane, you can walk on the tundra and marvel at the treeless landscape. Once you get back on the plane for your return flight, you will see such memorable sites as the Arctic National Park, the Brooks Range and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline from the air.

The sport of canoeing is something that requires both physical stamina and mental agility. You can practice sharpening both skills required for this fun sport when you take to the water at Wooden Canoe Lake. The water is always inviting and proves to be the perfect place for beginners to get acquainted with the sport or for more seasoned paddlers to practice and maintain their level of performance.
