With numerous interactive exhibits, thought-provoking larger-than-life Giant Screen films, and fun, hands-on educational programming, the Exploreum Science Center aspires to increase science literacy among the people of south Alabama and the Gulf Coast region, residents and visitors alike. By sparking imagination, creating curiosity and instilling a sense of wonder in the world, the Exploreum has been a cornerstone of informal learning on the Gulf Coast since its inception more than 35 years ago. 

For those nights when you and your friends want to venture out but don't want to have to deal with uppity attitudes, thankfully there's a place like the Midtown Pub. This fun nightlife hangout features pool tables, lots of comfortable tables and two huge TVs. The charm and laid-back vibe of the Midtown Pub make it a favorite of everyone from young professionals to old timers to college students. And, it doesn't hurt that the bar stays open from 12 noon to the wee hours of the morning.

Sometimes, getting a case of the blues can actually be a good thing. And nowhere is that feeling more appropriate than at the Blues Tavern. This one-of-a-kind entertainment venue has been often imitated but never duplicated, as any of the patrons of this blues club will tell you. The blues are very much alive at this no-frills venue, as it features a regular and highly impressive schedule of local and regional performers who all share their unmistakable love of the blues.

If you describe your relationship with your significant other as “a classic” or “time-tested,” then you will surely appreciate those exact same qualities when you enjoy a romantic date at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion. This impressive structure was built in 1855 and is one of the most elegant structures of its kind on the Gulf Coast. There are twenty rooms here, and among the finely decorated interior you will marvel at double parlors, a lavish dining room and grounds that are meticulously landscaped with Mobile's signature oak trees and azaleas.
