Mardi Gras in Mobile takes place over the course of two and a half weeks in February. The city has been recognized as the site of the first ever Mardi Gras celebration in 1703, well before it took place in New Orleans. To hit the trail and develop those skills even more, Chickasabogue Park in Mobile is a favorite destination. This trail features ten miles of singletrack that loops through the park. It ranks as not only one of the most scenic recreational trails, but also one of the most challenging.

The whole family can “go gator” at Alligator Alley. Your adventure is a guided tour of the facility that offers the incredible opportunity to see over 200 alligators relaxing, nesting, and sunbathing in a unique habitat. If you happen to be visiting during feeding hour, you can watch the crew walk right out to the alligators and feed them. As your tour continues, you can walk on an elevated boardwalk that allows for a unique view of the alligators along with such other creatures as turtles, ospreys, owls, bull frogs and many other animal attractions.

Mobile Ballet is the Gulf Coast's premiere ballet company and school. This group of highly talented performers works hard all year long to bring you an impressive schedule of events. Among some of the ballet's most recent performances include Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Carnival of the Dance. Also, the Mobile Ballet School offers classes for aspiring dancers who range in age from 3-years-old to adults. When you are in the audience for one of the ballet's many performances, you will be immediately struck by not only the brilliant dancing but also the detailed sets and meticulous costumes.
