Hank Williams was an unmistakeable forefather of country music, and his creations and legacy are celebrated to great effect in the Hank Williams Museum. Williams is linked to Montgomery as he won his first talent show here at the Empire Theatre and also gave his last performance here just three days before his death. The museum attraction features an amazing collection of memorabilia and mementos that tell the story of the life and work of this true musical legend.

The minute you set foot inside the Martin Luther King home, you can feel the sense of historical significance. This unassuming house was home to Dr. King and his family and most assuredly the site of many highly dramatic and tension-filled moments. When you walk in, you enter the gift shop and then begin by seeing a video of King and other significant figures of the Civil Rights Movement. Located just 25 miles due north of the city of Montgomery, Lake Jordan is a 6,800-acre impoundment on the Coosa River with an impressive 188 miles of shoreline. This lake has become quite popular for boating, swimming and fishing. It features public and private boat ramps as well as several private marinas.
