The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is one of the oldest museums in the state of Alabama. With that distinction comes the facility's equally impressive collection of American paintings and sculpture. Your skill and experience level with hiking doesn't really matter as you can easily find a recreation trail that is best suited to your abilities at Lake Guntersville State Park. These trails range from moderate to difficult in terrain and cover over 36 miles of the park's property. These are multi-use trails and comfortably accommodate hiking, biking and horses.

But when you head to Jordan Lake, you need no excuses—just plan enough time away to enjoy all that this beautiful outdoor destination has to offer. Located just 25 miles due north of the city of Montgomery, Lake Jordan is a 6,800-acre impoundment on the Coosa River with an impressive 188 miles of shoreline. This lake has become quite popular for boating, swimming and fishing. It features public and private boat ramps as well as several private marinas.
