An evening of true classics awaits you when you take your seat to enjoy a performance from the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. The group began as a community orchestra in 1976 and has since grown into the impressive musical entity it is today. The symphony has a full entertainment schedule all year long that includes various pops concerts, fellowship recitals, performances with guest musicians as well as seasonal presentations.

The whole family can reach for the stars when you visit the W.A. Gayle Planetarium. This fascinating attraction offers several presentations and exhibits that bring the wonder of outer space clearly within reach. The planetarium opened in 1969 and after undergoing a significant renovation now offers visitors a captivating look at space with the aid of 22 video projectors, a new sound system and the innovative use of Laser Light Shows.

Your skill and experience level with hiking doesn't really matter as you can easily find a recreation trail that is best suited to your abilities at Lake Guntersville State Park. These trails range from moderate to difficult in terrain and cover over 36 miles of the park's property. These are multi-use trails and comfortably accommodate hiking, biking and horses.

The calm soothing sound of the water rippling along and the birds chirping in the background as the trees rustle isn't a nature lover's dream. It is actually a reality when you visit Coosa River in Montgomery. Even though the river begins in Tennessee before entering Alabama at Weiss Lake, the Coosa River meets the Tallapoosa River to form the Alabama River. Aside from great fishing and kayaking, the river is a great place to just sit outdoors and enjoy one of the area's most beautiful natural treasures.
