Check the performance calendar at the Robinson Center to catch the next performance by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, or a Broadway performance like Chicago or Les Miserables. Artists like Robert Plant, Merle Haggard, John Legend and Norah Jones have performed at the entertainment venue; as well as comedians like Bill Cosby, Rodney Carrington and Katt Williams - you never know when your favorite performer is going to take the stage at the Robinson Center Music Hall.
Take the kids to monkey around with the animals at the Little Rock Zoo. The zoo is home to over 725 animals, living in habitats that mimic their natural environments. Giraffes, gorillas, rhinos, alligators, flamingos, bears, elephants, bobcats, tigers, lemurs, and zebras are just a few of the animals you'll see throughout the zoo. While you're traveling through the zoo's exhibits and attractions, take a ride on the train or stop to play at the park for even more fun.
Head to a state-wide party and have some fun at the Arkansas State Fair. The festival has it all - food, drinks, music, carnival rides, a livestock show, professional bull riding, a beauty pageant, dozens of contests, shopping, shows and more. Plan to spend a couple of days visiting the fair, because you just can't experience it all in one day.
The Arkansas Governor's Mansion was originally completed in 1950. It is a Georgian Colonial Mansion with walkways that link to two cottages with one and half acres of maintained herb and vegetable gardens.
