Get into the groove when you browse through the bins of classic vinyl LPs at Mesa's Bookmans Entertainment Exchange. Out-of-print treasures, imports and hard-to-find records abound, but that's not all you'll find here. There is also an equally inviting selection of video games, books, magazines, comics, musical instruments, sound systems and more. Bookmans' goal is to minimize the number of things that people throw away and recycle them by reselling them to new owners while offering an always-changing inventory to its shoppers. Despite the fact that Mesa offers many fun and entertaining activities as one of Arizona's premiere cities, the one thing that it can't offer is tropical island fun. That is all about to change with the Annual Island Kine Fest that is held every May in Mesa. The goal of this two-day event is to bring an island-style festival to the city and celebrate it with a variety of entertainment and activities. These include live music acts, island food handicrafts and other items for sale by various participating vendors. The weekend-long celebration is anchored by a big concert on Saturday evening.

With so much natural beauty surrounding it, a visit to the Arizona Museum of Natural History is a sure bet for a highly educational and entertaining time. Considered one of the best museums in the state, this facility offers lots of dramatically designed and well-presented exhibits. Perhaps the most famous of these is “Dinosaur Mountain” which features several attention-getting devices to tell its prehistoric story. A constantly flowing 50-foot-high indoor waterfall is just another of this museum's many highlights.

Mom and dad are used to telling their kids to not touch anything. But when the whole family visits the i.d.e.a. Museum, the kids are actually encouraged to reach out and touch as much as possible. This child-oriented arts center features a program of exhibits and attractions that are changed quite frequently, so you can visit often and not encounter the same surroundings.
