Visit this free memorial to those who have served their country. The Legion of Valor Museum grew from the efforts of dedicated Legion of Valor members. The museum displays military history through the exhibition of several pieces of WWI, WWII, Vietnam and Korean War memorabilia and photographs, as well as articles from Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Located on the California State University campus, Downing Planetarium offers the people of Fresno a chance to explore the galaxy from the comfort of a 74-seat star theater. Choose from several different shows at the 30-foot dome theater. Learn about outer space and the technology used to observe it. Gaze up at the stars in the middle of a modern star party, or learn about the history of stargazing.
Visit Fresno County's first park. Kearney Park is 225 acres and offers picnic and outdoor sports facilities in its day-use areas. Play a game of soccer, test your skills at horseshoe, hit a few balls at the softball and baseball fields or let the children have fun on the playground. When the heat's too much, visit the Kearney Mansion Museum for some educational fun and air conditioning.
