This inviting garden attraction was dedicated in April of 1981 through the generosity of Mrs. Loraine Miller Collins in memory of her husband, Earl Burns Miller. Maintained in association with California State University Long Beach, the garden attracts several visitors who marvel at its lush landscape and colorful flowers.

Marvel at the incredible number of species that make their home beneath the ocean's surface as you learn about them with the help of the many interactive exhibits, attractions, and impressive aquarium tanks that are housed here. If you are looking to spend some time outdoors and on the beach but would rather steer away from the crowds and all that goes with it, opt to visit Alamitos Bay Marina. This area is quite beautiful, but it is nicely positioned away from all of the tourist attractions and resorts, which makes it a kind of hidden treasure for outdoor lovers. The views are absolutely amazing and the weather is agreeable nearly every day.

Every August, the sounds of America's music – jazz – fills the Long Beach air. Fans of this historic musical genre gather at Rainbow Lagoon Park to hear some of the top artists on the scene performing during the Long Beach Jazz Festival. This popular three day event is staged on a beautiful grassy knoll in the park that makes for an experience that is as visually stunning as it is aurally pleasing. The festival also features a great selection of food, arts and crafts, as well as the wares of various vendors.
