Once owned by Paramount Studios, Paramount Ranch hosted a number of large-scale sets featured in movies and television shows dating from the golden age of cinema in 1927 to the final episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman in 1997. The majority of the sets have since been removed, but the set of a western town remains intact for visitors.
Since opening in 2001, Dolby Theatre has served as a venue for televised theater performances. When not hosting the annual Academy Awards Ceremonies or American Idol, the theater presents a variety of public cultural events and entertainment. Concerts, shows and performances by national artists are common, including Cirque du Soleil.
