The Riverside Heritage House is a place where the area's history and agricultural significance are celebrated in a most dramatic way. The house itself is an impressive example of 19th century Victorian style, an architectural design that was popular with homes of the period. The home stands on 1.3 acres of citrus groves, and this historical attraction is meant to represent the significance and contributions of orange growers during the Golden Age of citrus horticulture.

There's nothing like a good read, and you can find plenty of items to explore when you visit the Downtowne Bookstore in Riverside. This charming establishment has been a favorite of local bookworms since 1979. Among the many stacks and shelves, you'll find everything from children's books to first-edition collectibles to tomes on politics and history. If you don't find exactly what you're after, the helpful staff can special order it for you.

The Asistencia was established in 1819 as part of the Mission San Gabriel's Rancho San Bernardino. This mission functioned as an outpost for cattle grazing activities as well as a beacon of help to cattle workers and travelers throughout the area. The Asistencia buildings that still stand here are available for informal tours and are filled with highly interesting exhibits, details and items that tell the story of this transitional time in this area's development and history.
