There are parks and then there are the parks that hold an incredible number of distinctive outfeatures like the kind that you will find at Indio Hills Palms State Park. The park is centered around a line where the San Andreas fault accumulated ground water and nurtures the incredible variety of palms that are found here. This is an impressively large, 2,206-acre park area that is home to several palm groves. This is where you can take in the visually stunning Hidden, Pushawalla, Briska, Macomber and Horseshoe palms.

The Riverside Heritage House is a place where the area's history and agricultural significance are celebrated in a most dramatic way. The house itself is an impressive example of 19th century Victorian style, an architectural design that was popular with homes of the period. The home stands on 1.3 acres of citrus groves, and this historical attraction is meant to represent the significance and contributions of orange growers during the Golden Age of citrus horticulture.

There's plenty of high-flying history to discover when you visit the March Field Air Museum. This is where stories of aviation, military, and March Field all come alive. See various vintage aircraft, get up close to special collections of planes, and learn about some truly fascinating aeronautical history. You may even get to see one of these classic aircraft in the process of being restored.

Feel like going out tonight but don't feel like dressing up and dealing with too much glitz? Then head to Morgan's Tavern in Riverside. This is one of those places that could be categorized as a “dive bar,” but in the case of Morgan's, that's entirely a good thing! This charmingly unassuming nightlife hangout features karaoke, music videos, an excellent jukebox and a full bar. There's even an inviting patio area to enjoy if you feel like taking in the night air.
