The New Conservatory Theatre Center was established in 1981 and is a highly-respected performing arts complex that houses three separate, but fully-equipped theaters that range in size from an intimate 50 seats to a more spacious 132 seats. There is also a video studio and various classes designed to develop the talents of current and future thespians. San Francisco basketball fans love their college team, the Dons of the University of San Francisco, who are an NCAA Division 1 team. Bill Russell has guided the sports team to much success, not the least of which are the coveted basketball championships of 1995 and 1996.
