The San Francisco Giants baseball team is a Major League team that plays at AT&T Park which opened in 2000. The stadium was actually the cornerstone project of the South Beach and Mission Bay redevelopment. The sports team hit the diamond season after season for 52 years before winning the World Series in 2010.

The California Academy of Sciences is located in Golden Gate Park and offers the whole family a chance to learn about science in a new and entertaining way. Among the many popular exhibits and attractions are those focused on various types of fish and other aquatic life, the rain forests of the world, and the newly added roof garden. McKinley Square is one of the city's most popular park areas.
