Learn about all of the outdoor beauty you'll find at Stockton's Oak Grove Nature Center and Oak Grove Regional Park. The park offers plenty of great activities throughout the spring and summer that are designed to educate visitors about the plants, animals and ecosystem that all contribute to the area's obvious natural beauty. The trails remain open in the fall and winter but the Center's activities are limited to the constraints of the weather.
The kids will surely jump at the chance to rev it up and go when you take them to visit the Delta Speedway. This attraction is located in San Joaquin County Fairgrounds and has been in operation since 1986. This track is an 1/8 mile dirt oval that accommodates microsprint cars that kids from 5 years of age and up can enjoy. The whole family will be entertained by the rumble of these smaller-than-usual engines as they speed toward the finish line.
The Stockton Symphony has the distinction of being the third oldest orchestra in the state of California. That impressive history serves as a highly suitable background against which this talented group of musicians create the music that has delighted audiences for years. The Symphony has a busy entertainment schedule year round, and they proudly perform the best of both classical composers as well as the familiar tunes that make up their pops concert series.
The Stockton Ports area baseball team plays in the Northern Division of the Class A-Advanced California League and is a Minor League affiliate team of Oakland Athletics. The sports team plays its home games at the Banner Island Ballpark.
