Learn about all of the outdoor beauty you'll find at Stockton's Oak Grove Nature Center and Oak Grove Regional Park. The park offers plenty of great activities throughout the spring and summer that are designed to educate visitors about the plants, animals and ecosystem that all contribute to the area's obvious natural beauty. The trails remain open in the fall and winter but the Center's activities are limited to the constraints of the weather.

The San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum is a fascinating, multidimensional time capsule of the area. Learn about the settlement history, local terrain, homesteads and the role of the Gold Rush in the social and economic development of the region. Additionally, see exhibits on wine making, tractors, gardening and a blacksmith shop as well as a generous selection of antiques and furnishings. Plus, there are various demonstrations of how all of these items were pivotal in the lives of the area’s early inhabitants.

The love that the two of you have for each other has withstood the test of time, so celebrate that fact by enjoying a bottle of wine that has also been aged to perfection at the Gnekow Family Winery. Plan a romantic date and take a casual tour of the vineyards and wine presses to see how this family tradition has grown into something that has become as tasteful as it is timeless. Don't forget to take home a bottle (or two) before you wind up your visit.

The Willow Slough Trail offers hikers and walkers a chance to experience the natural beauty of an ancient valley oak forest that offers one of the rarest landscapes in the state. Beaver, river otters and mountain lions as well as several types of exotic birds are the types of creatures you may be able to see on your trek. The terrain of this recreation path is dirt, dirt road and boardwalk through the valley and oak woodland.
