Amid the day to day hustle and bustle of the city, escaping to a natural haven isn't as difficult as you would think thanks to Hartford's Elizabeth Park Rose Gardens. The recreation trail is located about 8 miles west of Hartford and starts off with a fairly steep climb of about 400 feet. From there, cruise along a ridge and take a gradual descent but you will encounter a single-track trail that requires even more attention to assure safety for both you and fellow bikers and walkers on the trail.
