Tampa Bay Turkey Trot
When November finally trots around, Clearwater running enthusiasts know that the Times Turkey Trot will soon be getting underway. This is the largest running event in the Tampa Bay, drawing nearly 16,000 participants. This road race is for competitive runners, recreational runners and walkers of all ages. When you pay your entry fee, you'll get a t-shirt. Trophies are awarded to the top finishers and all the proceeds go to help local charities. Additionally, non-perishable food items are collected the day of the race and are donated to a local food pantry.
Treasure Island
When people think of a romantic date, usually a walk on the beach comes to mind. If you and your sweetheart find yourselves in Clearwater, there will be plenty of sandy selections to choose for your stroll on the seashore. One of the most popular is Treasure Island. Studio 1212
Cooperation instead of competition is the mission of Studio 1212. Established in October of 1970, this is the oldest artist cooperative in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. The membership is limited to thirty members who not only create and teach their craft in this cooperative, but they frequently hold openings and display their art for the public to view and purchase. Various classes are offered as well, as the members of the co-op also value the opportunity to give back by teaching their craft to aspiring artists.
