Bikers love the scenery and fair amount of challenge that can be found on the Clearwater Lake Loop trail. This ten-mile single track runs through the Ocala National Forest and leads to a remote and reclaimed natural bear habitat. A fair amount of oaks and longleaf pines line this recreation trail which offer some comfortable shade throughout most of the trail.
It is always fun to learn about the ocean and all of the life that makes its home there. But it is a completely different experience to actually be out on the water to see that life in action. Aquatic enthusiasts will most definitely enjoy that opportunity when they get on board for the Sea Life Safari Boat Tour. This two-hour excursion is associated with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and provides participants the chance to look for dolphins, sea birds and other marine life as one of the aquarium staff member narrates the scenic ride to a shell island. One of the many highlights of the trip includes seeing a net pull that offers a chance to reach out and touch ocean wildlife before they are released back into their natural habitat.
The Clearwater Historical Society consistently puts forth its various efforts in the conservation, research and use of the area's past. They do this by recovering and preserving various historical artifacts, relics and documentation. The organization also provides its services to other museums and educational institutions. The Society also maintains the Plumb House Museum on its property that offers free admission to visitors who want to come and dig deeper into Clearwater's history.
