Cooperation instead of competition is the mission of Studio 1212. Established in October of 1970, this is the oldest artist cooperative in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. The membership is limited to thirty members who not only create and teach their craft in this cooperative, but they frequently hold openings and display their art for the public to view and purchase. Various classes are offered as well, as the members of the co-op also value the opportunity to give back by teaching their craft to aspiring artists.
It's a screamin' good time aboard the Sea Screamer, the world's largest speedboat. Hop aboard for a one-hour cruise along the Gulf, where you'll see plenty of dolphins frolicking in the waves. The tour guides will even point out the waterfront homes of Hollywood royalty as you cruise by.
Sharing time together is a truly essential ingredient to keeping that romantic flame burning. It also doesn't hurt to raise a glass to your love with the help of a fine bottle of wine. Take that idea a step further when you plan a special date to the Murielle Winery. This family-owned winery offers guided tours that show visitors all aspects of the wine-making process from the vineyard to the wine press to the bottle. Also, there are wine tastings held on Saturdays, so plan to make the trip to Murielle Winery this weekend for a romantic date that is worthy of a toast!
Take the family out on an island adventure when you venture out to Caladesi Island State Park. This is one of the few remaining completely natural islands off Florida's Gulf Coast. The whole family can enjoy swimming, sunbathing and fishing at this outdoor attraction. Fish from the surf or from your boat. There is a three mile trail through the island's interior on which the kids can marvel at some of the area's wildlife. There are picnic areas, a marina, as well as a snack bar and gift shop. The park is accessible by either boat or ferry.
