Clearwater Beach is a visually stunning attraction for many reasons. Aside from its dazzlingly white sands and clear blue surf, the amazing number of people who flock to this extremely popular beach only adds to its attractiveness. Beach-goers of all ages are here, from the kids who can play in the nearby playgrounds before playing on the sandy shore, to the young adults who are not shy about showing off their beach-ready bodies as they convene at one of the many beach bars. All of this ocean-side fun consistently attracts many visitors, so be prepared for a long wait as you drive in on any of the main access roads.
When people think of a romantic date, usually a walk on the beach comes to mind. If you and your sweetheart find yourselves in Clearwater, there will be plenty of sandy selections to choose for your stroll on the seashore. One of the most popular is Treasure Island. This is one of the widest beaches in the area and there is always something fun going on to sit and enjoy. Activities like kite flying contests and windsailing take place here quite often. Also, this is the site of the popular Taste of Treasure Island food and music festival.
There's nothing quite like a case of the blues. It's no fun when you have it alone, but when you get together with fellow blues enthusiasts at the annual Knology Sea-Blues Festival, the blues are most definitely worth celebrating. The two day festival, usually held in May, features a variety of regionally and nationally recognized blues artists. This event is free to the public.
When you're in Clearwater, you definitely want to make some time to visit the Cleveland Street District. This is Clearwater's downtown area that has undergone some impressive renovations and has now become quite popular with tourists and visitors alike. The area features a marina, Coachman Park, restaurants, shops, attractions and nightlife all contained in a relatively small but safe area of the city. It is only two miles from Clearwater Beach, which means that whether you are driving in or driving out from the Cleveland Street District, you will see some of the area's most stunning scenery that includes the Clearwater Memorial Causeway.
