The Clearwater East-West Trail is an area favorite. This eight and a half mile, multi-use trail winds through several area parks and greenways that offer walkers and hikers a unique view of the city from several highly memorable vantage points. Surprisingly, some of the recreation trail's passages are quite hidden from the everyday hustle and bustle.
Get up close to one of nature's most fascinating creatures, the dolphin, when you make arrangements to experience the Dolphin Exploration Cruise. The tour will take you from Clearwater Bay out through Clearwater Pass and into the Gulf of Mexico so that you can get close to the many bottlenose dolphins that make their home out in these waters. You are actually guaranteed to see dolphins on your trip that also includes not only a fascinating narrative full of facts and information from your captain but also "Turtle Story Time" for the kids and complementary beverages for the adults.
Sometimes, changing your scenery with something a little unexpected is good for romance. That's definitely the case when you plan a special date to visit the Octagon Arts Center together. This venue is all about highlighting the work of the many talented artists who are both locally and regionally based. Various shows are scheduled throughout the year that spotlight either a particular theme or the work of an up and coming artist. You and your date know that your relationship is kind of like a work of art in and of itself, so spending some romantic time at the Octagon Art Center is literally a picture perfect date!
Clearwater's Honeymoon Island State Park is a multidimensional paradise for the avid nature lover. The park took its name from the many thatched bungalows that have been frequented by many honeymoon couples. There is plenty of natural beauty to soak in here that includes osprey nests, a wide variety of shorebirds, and one of the last remaining slash pine forests in Florida. Also, there are several nature trails and bird observation areas that allow visitors to get even closer to the natural beauty that comprises this beautiful outdoor area.
