When November finally trots around, Clearwater running enthusiasts know that the Times Turkey Trot will soon be getting underway. This is the largest running event in the Tampa Bay, drawing nearly 16,000 participants. This road race is for competitive runners, recreational runners and walkers of all ages. When you pay your entry fee, you'll get a t-shirt. Trophies are awarded to the top finishers and all the proceeds go to help local charities. Additionally, non-perishable food items are collected the day of the race and are donated to a local food pantry.
While Philadelphia is a good distance away from Clearwater, the city gets a taste of one of the City of Brotherly Love's favorite teams when the Philadelphia Phillies come to town for spring training. The team is the oldest continuous, one-name, one-city franchise in all of professional American sports. While the team is a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's National League, they prep for every season at Clearwater's Bright House Field.
A great way to experience the beauty of Clearwater's beaches in a unique way is to see it all from the Beach Walk. This winding beachside promenade features lush landscaping augmented by artistic touches that only serve to enhance your view of the beach. This is where cyclists, rollerbladers and walkers can enjoy being beachside while still marveling at it all from a distance.
