When people think of a romantic date, usually a walk on the beach comes to mind. If you and your sweetheart find yourselves in Clearwater, there will be plenty of sandy selections to choose for your stroll on the seashore. One of the most popular is Treasure Island. This is one of the widest beaches in the area and there is always something fun going on to sit and enjoy. Activities like kite flying contests and windsailing take place here quite often. Also, this is the site of the popular Taste of Treasure Island food and music festival.
The Florida Military Aviation Museum captures the true spirit and essence of the history of those who braved the skies to feel the freedom of flight. Visitors will learn about past flight missions and the individuals who piloted them to success. Also, the impressive exhibits of restored U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army and Coast Guard aircraft are on display for the public to view and study to gain a greater understanding for the important role that aviation has played in defending our nation.
While Philadelphia is a good distance away from Clearwater, the city gets a taste of one of the City of Brotherly Love's favorite teams when the Philadelphia Phillies come to town for spring training. The team is the oldest continuous, one-name, one-city franchise in all of professional American sports. While the team is a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's National League, they prep for every season at Clearwater's Bright House Field.
