Fans of classical music and symphonic performances should make it a point to see a production by the New World Symphony. This symphony company is the nation's only full-time orchestra academy and works hard to prepare up and coming professional orchestra musicians. New World Symphony hosts a variety of performances and events so be sure to check its calendar and stay in the know.
Snorkel with the fishies, spend a day on a boat, relax on the beach, or suit up for a scuba dive at Biscayne National Park. This park is the largest marine park in the National Park System and protects four ecosystems: a stretch of mangrove forest along the shoreline, the southern portion of Biscayne Bay, the northern Florida Keys, and a part of the world's third-longest living coral reef. All of these ecosystems mean that there's plenty of nature to explore here. There's also a visitor center on site with an art gallery featuring works inspired by the park and other attractions.
When you're in Miami, you can sit beside the ocean or you can explore it at the Miami Seaquarium. This oceanarium is home to marine mammals, like Lolita the killer whale, and various fish, sharks, sea turtles, birds, reptiles and other animals. Other interesting attractions include live animal shows like the dolphin show, the sea lion show, and the killer whale show.
