Brooker Creek is one of the top parks in the St. Petersburg area. Visitors truly enjoy experiencing wildlife like tortoises, wild turkey, white-tailed deer and river otters in their natural environments. Also, the sprawling trails at the park will challenge even the most in-shape walkers and runners. But most of all, nature lovers will appreciate this outdoor area as it resembles Florida almost exactly as it was 150 years ago.

The injuries sustained by various birds in the area are seen as just temporary by the caring professionals at the Suncoast Bird Sanctuary. This prominent avian hospital rehabilitates thousands of feathered creatures who need a little extra care. Creatures from birds to raptors are treated and then released, but several of the injured specimens make their permanent home here. The sanctuary has gotten lots of attention for breeding Eastern brown pelicans in captivity. As many as 500 "patients" can occupy the facility at one time. When you visit this attraction, you can see an impressive variety of winged creatures that include herons, egrets, cormorants, seagulls and more.

Sandcastles made of the white sand on St. Petersburg Municipal Beach seem more magical when you look out over the clear water that makes its way slowly up to the shoreline. The kids will love playing in the surf all afternoon as you bask in the invitingly warm Florida sunshine or maybe take a little snooze. But don't forget the sunscreen!

Go on a four-hour adventure packed with sun, surf and history when you take the Egmont Key Snorkeling from St. Pete Beach. As you travel through the clear blue waters off of St. Pete Beach, you will begin to embark on a unique adventure that will allow you to explore the remains of Fort Dade which dates back to the Spanish-American War. You will also visit the historic island of Egmont Key that is home to the National Wildlife Refuge. Another highlight is the lighthouse that was constructed in 1848. Then, you can enjoy a big splash with the opportunity to snorkel, swim, or just stay on board the ship and relax.
