The Museum of Fine Arts houses an incredibly far-reaching collection of art from around the world that spans several historical and artistic eras. The Salvador Dali Museum is a worthwhile day trip to St. Petersburg from Tampa. The museum holds the largest Dali collection outside of Spain. You'll be astonished to see the huge giant canvases painted with colorful fantastical dream like imagery, straight from the famous artist's head. Nature lovers will appreciate the unique natural desolation that makes Anclote Key so special. This island off the coast of Tarpon Springs is a four-mile stretch of Florida beach that has not been overdeveloped or commercialized and still retains its stunning natural beauty. Offering such natural attractions as several different types of bird species, the island is open for day use and on the north end you'll find an excellent place to enjoy overnight camping. You can get to this outdoor paradise courtesy of a 10-minute boat ride from the mainland.
