Mangrove Bay Golf Course is a favorite of golfers in the St. Petersburg area. This course was opened in 1977 and has been carefully maintained since then to become a kind of benchmark for other courses to follow. This 18-hole course features 6,779 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Jeff Hollis and his staff do an excellent job of managing this popular course.
Going underground has never been as much fun as it is when you take the family out to visit Sunken Gardens. At fifteen feet below street level, a botanical paradise awaits you at this attraction. This is St. Petersburg's oldest living museum that has offered a natural solace to visitors for over 100 years. Find your way through the footpath that will lead you through the gardens as you take in some of the world's most exotic and tropical plants. Also, there is a mesmerizing cascading waterfall that you won't want to miss.
Many people yearn for the good old days when things were simpler. Instead of yearning for them, you can actually travel back to them when you visit Heritage Village. In the wake of fast-moving progress, there were several buildings in Pinellas County slated for demolition. Luckily, these places were saved and moved to this location which features two dozen structures that include a store, a church, a school, an outhouse and several private residences from yesteryear that are still very much a part of today.
