The Salvador Dali Museum is a worthwhile day trip to St. Petersburg from Tampa. The museum holds the largest Dali collection outside of Spain. You'll be astonished to see the huge giant canvases painted with colorful fantastical dream like imagery, straight from the famous artist's head. Bring swimsuits to swim and build sandcastles at one of the nearby beautiful beaches that St. Pete is famous for. When you and your date stroll from one exhibit to another, you will be seeing pieces that make up the world's most extensive collection of Dali's work.

The American Stage Theatre Company is considered to be the best theater organization in the area, and with good reason. It was founded in 1977 and has been staging impressive productions that feature the talents of area actors, directors and technicians. American Stage features a wide variety of entertainment that ranges from dramatic classics to the cutting edge as well as everything from musicals to Shakespeare. There are performances offered all year long as well as the popular "American Stage in the Park" in the Spring.

Nature lovers will appreciate the unique natural desolation that makes Anclote Key so special. This island off the coast of Tarpon Springs is a four-mile stretch of Florida beach that has not been overdeveloped or commercialized and still retains its stunning natural beauty. Offering such natural attractions as several different types of bird species, the island is open for day use and on the north end you'll find an excellent place to enjoy overnight camping. You can get to this outdoor paradise courtesy of a 10-minute boat ride from the mainland.

Florida football fans look forward to the season every year as it is another chance to see the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field. The sports team is a member of the Southern Division of the National Football Conference. The team has been a consistent playoff contender and won Superbowl XXXVII at the end of the 2003 season. They play their home games at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
