The Salvador Dali Museum is a worthwhile day trip to St. Petersburg from Tampa. The museum holds the largest Dali collection outside of Spain. Want to spend a day at the beach without fighting the crowds? Then make Sand Key Park your destination for the day. These relatively quiet beach surroundings are as beautiful as they are relaxing. Beachcombers, surfers, and sun worshipers all enjoy the natural amenities of Sand Key, but the man-made amenities like picnic tables, restrooms and lifeguard stations are quite nice, as well.

The Museum of Fine Arts houses an incredibly far-reaching collection of art from around the world that spans several historical and artistic eras. You'll encounter over 18,000 works here, and these include some of the world's most seminal creations by such artists as Monet, Renoir, O'Keeffe, Bellows and Hassaam. Additionally, you'll see some of the most compelling exhibits that illustrate Greek, Egyptian, Asian, African, pre-Columbian, and Native American art. There's also a great cafe and gift shop that perfectly round out your visit.
