Boyd Hill Nature Park offers you a chance to spend some time outdoors and encounter some of the area's wildlife without venturing too far from civilization. This impressive nature preserve is located south of St. Petersburg and spreads out over 245 acres of terrain that includes marshlands, lake shores, and forests. There are also several boardwalks and nature trails to discover. Special tours and nighttime hikes are offered, in addition to the popular kid's day camps.

Go on a four-hour adventure packed with sun, surf and history when you take the Egmont Key Snorkeling from St. Pete Beach. The Salvador Dali Museum is a worthwhile day trip to St. Petersburg from Tampa. The museum holds the largest Dali collection outside of Spain. Bring swimsuits to swim and build sandcastles at one of the nearby beautiful beaches that St. Pete is famous for.
