Go on a wild adventure at the Tallahassee Museum. Visit a zoo devoted exclusively to animals in their natural habitat. Forget about walking from exhibit to exhibit, instead you walk across the outdoor boardwalk attraction situated inside a towering cypress forest to see wild panthers, rare red foxes and other wildlife up-close and in the wild.
The Alfred B. Maclay State Gardens Park invites visitors to travel across 1,076 acres of outdoor paradise and attractions, loaded with something for everyone. Nature lovers hang out at the park's famous ornamental gardens, and recreation like boating, swimming and fishing on Lake Overstreet is popular. Also, hikers, bikers and joggers can hit the multipurpose trails for a refreshing excursion through nature.
Come watch an eagle soar at Tallahassee Community College, home to the TCC Eagles. Talk about soaring; baseball coach Mike McLeod is a four-time winner of the Panhandle Conference Coach of the Year and in 2011, posted his 700th win as baseball coach of the TCC Eagles. The TCC Eagles play sports in softball, baseball, basketball, and track and field.
Take a detour to the Tallahassee Automobile Museum, the southeast's finest collection of rare automobiles and unique collectables. Steer your way around all rare automobiles, motorcycles, antique cars, peddle cars, and gems like Lincoln's 1860 Horse-Drawn Hearse or the 1995 Batmobile from the movie Batman Forever.
