Enjoy a performance at one of Atlanta's most historic venues, the Fox Theatre. The theater originally opened as a movie palace in 1929 and has been providing audiences with entertainment ever since. Presently, the venue books more than 300 performances annually, including productions from the Atlanta Ballet, Broadway touring companies, film series and various cultural events, and concerts by world-famous artists.
Take in the eerie beauty of Georgia's oldest burial grounds, the Oakland Cemetery. The cemetery was founded in 1850 and there are an estimated 70,000 people laid to rest in its 48-acre expanse. Sections of the cemetery include the New Jewish section, the Black section, the Confederate section, and the cemetery's Original Six Acres; each section represents a different time in history. Some of Atlanta's most important and influential figures are interred here.
Learn everything you ever wanted to know about your favorite soda at World of Coca-Cola. The kids can get their hands on interactive exhibits and attractions throughout the museum, and the whole family can explore the history of one of the world's biggest corporations. While you're there, you'll see a chronicled exhibition of the company's impact on pop-culture, and a live demonstration of how the drink is bottled.
