Atlanta Film Festival
Fans of film, mark your calendars for the Atlanta Film Festival. The annual international film festival presents a wide range of independent films, from a variety of genres. Hustle & Flow and 500 Days of Summer are just a couple of movies that have been featured at the festival. Flatiron Building
Check out a piece of urban Atlanta's history by visiting The English-American Building, more widely known as the Flatiron Building. The building is located in the downtown business district and was built in 1897, making it the city's oldest standing skyscraper. Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site
Take time to pay tribute to one of the main leaders of the Civil Rights Movement by visiting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. The 35-acre site features a number of buildings and memorial sites, including Dr. King's childhood home, the original Ebenezer Baptist Church, Fire Station No. 6, the "I Have a Dream" International World Peace Rose Garden, the "International Civil Rights Walk of Fame," and a memorial to Mohandas K. Gandhi. While you're visiting the site, be sure to walk through the visitor center for a detailed chronology of the American Civil Rights Movement.
