High Falls State Park Trails High Falls State Park Trails

High Falls State Park Trails consist of three trails of varying lengths and difficulty. These recreation trails actually provide access to the falls and the historic natural areas of this park. This loop trail is rated easy to moderate as it stretches out 2.3 miles with a gain of 140 feet in elevation. This particular trail is open all year round and offers hikers the chance to see everything from prime fishing spots, spring flowers, fall foliage and bird migrations.

This is the prison camp that became the deathbed for 13,000 Union soldiers who were prisoners of war and suffered extreme neglect that lead to their deaths.
