Hawaii State Art Museum
The Hawaii State Art Museum opened in the fall of 2002, when it brought immensely popular touring exhibits to the state of Hawaii. The museum houses three galleries, featuring pieces from the Art in Public Places Collection. Many of the exhibits focus on art from native Hawaiians, along with art that speaks to the culture of the Islands.
East Hawaii Cultural Center
The East Hawaii Cultural Center is an important force that promotes Hawaiian arts, culture and creative traditions. Since Hawaii is a multi-ethnic state, the council was founded in 1967 with six charter organizations that reflect the diversity of the Pacific islands. The cultural center is home to an effective alliance of arts organizations, including the Big Island Dance Council, Hawaii Concert Society, Bunka No Izumi, Kin Ryosho Dance Academy, and the Philippine Women's Circle.
Aloha Festival
Celebrate the music, dance and history of the islands at the annual Aloha Festival Hawaii every September. The festival is one of the largest and oldest of its kind in the nation. Dancers, a royal court, parades, music and more are all part of the festivities.
