The Tallgrass Film Festival may be the launching pad for the next Steven Spielberg! To find out about all the great film-making talent in the area, make sure you head for this festival held the third week in October at various locations in downtown Wichita. This is the ninth annual festival, and it has built a solid tradition of allowing you to screen the best foreign, independent, short, retrospective and premiering films. Grab some popcorn, take a seat, and enjoy!

At the Wichita Art Museum, the slogan says it all: "Your Museum. America's Art." Priceless pieces adorn the walls of various galleries and their appeal only makes strolling through the museum that much more enjoyable. Special exhibits that feature various mediums as well as limited showings of rare work are just a couple of examples of what is on the schedule of events. This unique nightlife venue for live music and specialty brews is in the heart of Old Town, boasting a location atop the River City Brewing Company, Wichita's oldest microbrewery still in operation. Loft 150 also has a reputation for being a fantastic outlet for great live music, and there is always a great band on stage every week.

There isn't a bad seat in the house when you take in an evening of classics performed by the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. And not only will you hear classics by the composers you love, the performers that are slated to appear are just as exciting, with Chris Botti, Terrence Wilson, and Julie Albers all scheduled to perform in the upcoming season. If you've never experienced the wide, panoramic sound of the symphony, get your tickets for yourself and a guest, get dressed up and come and feast your ears on some of the greatest music ever made.
