The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate museum and features 18 world renowned dioramas and rotating exhibits. Admission is always free and the museum is open seven days a week.

Each November, the area's best local and regional musicians along with some nationally recognized artists gather for the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival.
