Artbreak takes place every April and May. Students from Bossier and Caddo Parish take part in several hands-on art projects and also serve as judges for the various pieces that are completed. This festival is a weekend of dance, music, theater, food, fun and even a 5K race.

Looking for a fun nightlife spot you and your buddies can escape to and take a break from the kids and the office? How about the Sand Bar? It's a guy's guy bar, with beer from all over the world, pool tables, basket ball hoops, beer pong, and a DJ spinning your favorite songs. It's all spread out over three floors, with video screens everywhere running the latest sporting events from all over the country. Going on a safari is an adventure all within itself, but getting to interact with the animals you see takes the whole safari idea to a higher level. And that's exactly the level you'll be on when you visit Shreveport's Jubilee Zoo. That safari, by the way, reflects Louisiana flavor as it performs double duty as a hayride! There's also a petting zoo, a moonwalk, picnic areas and carousel ponies, just to mention a few of the fun attractions you'll experience on this all-day adventure. All of nature's wildlife is within your reach, and when it is all gathered together in such an accessible, engaging place like the Jubilee Zoo, you'll want the celebration to continue for as long as possible.

Undoubtedly the African American culture has had a rightful influence on American society, but to fully appreciate its origin and history, check out the Stephens African American Museum. Through paintings, relics and other items and art works, you'll get a sharply developed picture of the various African American contributions to our development and the importance of continued awareness of this fascinating component of America's story.
