From the natural beauty of flowers and other regional foliage to the quest of the Native Americans, you'll see the various artistic essences of these subjects captured in the works on display at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery. Aside from the impressive paintings and photographs, there are various series of speakers and multimedia presentations that tell the stories behind some of these mesmerizing creations.

Going on a safari is an adventure all within itself, but getting to interact with the animals you see takes the whole safari idea to a higher level. And that's exactly the level you'll be on when you visit Shreveport's Jubilee Zoo. That safari, by the way, reflects Louisiana flavor as it performs double duty as a hayride! There's also a petting zoo, a moonwalk, picnic areas and carousel ponies, just to mention a few of the fun attractions you'll experience on this all-day adventure. All of nature's wildlife is within your reach, and when it is all gathered together in such an accessible, engaging place like the Jubilee Zoo, you'll want the celebration to continue for as long as possible.

Each November, the area's best local and regional musicians along with some nationally recognized artists gather for the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival. Known as Shreveport's "party in the park," there's a whole lot more than just the incredible music. You'll see unique jewelry, home décor, and other one-of-a-kind items for sale by participating artisans. Two stages feature rotating musical acts, and the five hours of live music and fun are absolutely free!
