True Colors

The Holy Trinity Catholic Church honors the tradition of the Catholic faith and keeps an eye on the future, as celebrations such as weddings, baptisms and ordinations offer hope for the Church in the coming years. However forward looking those are, this church has the distinction of being the oldest church in the area. It is awe-inspiring to stand in its doorway, with the rich stone architecture guarding the altar and tabernacle like a formidable fortress. Still, the color and spectacle of the detailed stained glass windows brings a color and depth to the atmosphere that, like the Salvation that is celebrated here daily, reminds the congregation of God's beauty and serenity.

If you've been moving too fast and haven't taken the time to stop and smell the roses, the Gardens of the American Rose Center will give you so many opportunities to take in the pleasant aroma and sight of the beautiful flower. Over 20,000 blooms can be seen throughout the 42-acre research and garden attraction, so there's no excuse for missing the chance to take a break from your busy-pace-rat-race to literally smell these roses.

The Olde Covered Bridge Gardens features an ever changing bouquet of flowering plants all surrounding this historic bridge in one of the most visually captivating corners of the city. You'll find that this is a great place for spending time outdoors.

Enjoy domestic, foreign, and microbrew beers as well as live entertainment. The festival is a partnership between Mudgub Madness, Red River Revel Arts Festival, Eldorado Casino and downtown Shreveport Unlimited. Proceeds benefit additional programs provided by the DSU and the Revel so a good cause benefits from such a fun and highly attended event.
