Before there was the internet or computers of any kind, photos and manuscripts joined disciplined engineering practice and mathematics to aid in construction plans for important city buildings. The documented preliminary work that went into the planning and execution of these projects is housed at the Karpeles Manuscript Library. It's not only a history lesson, but a testament to our forefathers' ingenuity and perseverance to establish the landmarks that serve as anchors of Shreveport's history.

Artbreak takes place every April and May. Students from Bossier and Caddo Parish take part in several hands-on art projects and also serve as judges for the various pieces that are completed. This festival is a weekend of dance, music, theater, food, fun and even a 5K race.

It's a guy's guy bar, with beer from all over the world, pool tables, basket ball hoops, beer pong, and a DJ spinning your favorite songs. It's all spread out over three floors, with video screens everywhere running the latest sporting events from all over the country.
