If you'd rather have your nose stuck in a book than do anything else, then the Boston Book Festival is an event just for you – but you'll have to put down what you're reading to get there. The festival features live book readings, lectures and open discussions with professional authors, and of course, books! Hang out with some of nature's most fascinating creatures at the Franklin Park Zoo. You'll see animals like tigers, kangaroos, leopards, lions, zebras, gorillas and more, throughout exhibits like Serengeti Crossing, Outback Trail, Tiger Tales, and Kalahari Kingdom. In all, there are over 1,000 animals living at the zoo.

Strap on your skates and tear up the ice at the Boston Common Frog Pond. If you're not so good on your feet, sign up for skating lessons; if you know what you're doing with those skates, show off on the ice. Also, the pond features College Night on Tuesdays. Get a little cold on the ice? Stop at the Frog Pond Cafe for a cup of coffee to keep you warm.

Live comedy is the ticket at the ImprovBoston Theatre. Stand-up comedians, improvisational shows, and sketch performances are hosted here five nights a week, providing comedic entertainment to thousands of people annually. If you have an interest in being a performer, ImprovBoston hosts classes for those willing to learn.
