Visit the Fell´s Point neighborhood for one of the largest annual celebrations in Baltimore. The Fell´s Point Fun Festival, usually held during the first week of October, has been going on for over 45 years and draws in over 700,000 people. You can find several monuments and attractions commemorating George Washington throughout the states of Maryland and Virginia. The Washington Monument State Park contains the first monument built for the first President. Built in 1827, this historic stone monument still stands proud near the summit of South Mountain´s Monument Knob.
