Lace up your roller skates or rollerblades and head on over to the Northland Roller Rink, one of Detroit’s largest roller rinks, for a fun time. Skate during the public sessions to some of your favorite oldies as well as a few of the more current songs. Or, opt for a skating class or laser tag game.

Stop by one of Southeastern Michigan’s most popular tourist attractions. Motown Museum preserves and cultivates Motown in its first headquarters. Located in the Hitsville U.S.A. building, this unique museum displays costumes, photos and records from Motown's successful era and shares the legacy of the record label, its artists and its music.

Head over to Ferndale for a fun weekend at the DIY Street Fair. This 2-day, 3-night festival showcases local artists, crafters, businesses, organizations, musicians, restaurants, brewers and others who base their work on creativity and a “do-it-yourself” work ethic. Entrance is free, but bring some cash because you are sure to find something to purchase at the Marketplace, Record Shop, Beer Garden or Restaurant Row.

You will also find the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory in Belle Isle Park. This gorgeous greenhouse and botanical garden covers 13 acres. Built in 1904, this conservatory still overflows with beautiful plant life. Formal perennial gardens, annual flowerbeds, a rose garden and lily pond garden surround the domed conservatory, which is filled with exotic tropical and desert plants.
