This striking Art Deco building has been around since 1915, when it was one of the largest movie theaters in the world. Nowadays, the Majestic is separated into three distinct areas–the Majestic, the Majestic Cafe, and the Magic Stick – all of which host popular musical acts.

Since 2000, the Movement: Detroit Electronic Music Festival has existed in one incarnation or another on Memorial Day weekend. As its name states, DEMF brings together musicians and DJs who produce some of the best electronic music in the nation. Celebrate the culture and progress of this unique branch of music in Hart Plaza.

Drive out to Taylor for a fun day at the Heritage Park Petting Farm, where guests young and old alike can have fun meeting the friendly, domesticated animals. Head inside the big red barn to interact with all sorts of barnyard life, from goats and ponies to piglets and alpacas. Or, stroll over to the nature pond where you can admire koi fish, frogs and turtles (but don’t pet the wildlife!).

Put your pedal to the metal and bike through the most interesting parts of Detroit.
