Saint Paul’s oldest surviving theater, the Fitzgerald Theater has been around since 1910. Once famous for screening foreign films, nowadays Minnesota Public Radio owns the Fitz. You may be familiar with their most popular show, A Prairie Home Companion, which is heard all over the nation. In addition to this radio show, the Fitz hosts all sorts of Broadway musicals, vaudeville shows, film festivals, concerts, and other entertainment.

Join in the seasonal, citywide festival of the arts at the Saint Paul Art Crawl. All along Downtown, Lowertown and Harriet Island, vendors and local artists set up tents and galleries to display their wares. Listen to local bands perform on stage and in the parade during this three-day long extravaganza, watch performances by theater and ballet groups and admire the art and culture of the Capital City.

View the Minnesota Historical Society’s collection of art, archaeological artifacts, documents, books and other attractions at the Minnesota History Center. This museum and library house the largest amount of materials regarding the state’s past. Learn about the history of Minnesota, or simply stop by for one of the many performances or other special events hosted in this large facility.

Hidden in the four-acres beside the zoo, Como Town is a lesser-known attraction in Como Park but an excellent one for children between the ages 2 and 12. This amusement park offers rides such as a carousel, bumper cars, a Tilt-A-Whirl and more! In addition to the rides and Splash Zone, Como Town offers carnival games, puppet shows and other family-fun.
